Speech2Text solution for quotation creation
The Gerdesmeier carpentry workshop from Paderborn brings life into living spaces with individual furniture and complete furnishings. Solid wood, high-quality materials, and tailor-made solutions are the hallmarks of the manufactory. Intensive exchange with customers is essential for this. To move faster from customer consultation to quotation, the KIDiHa project, together with owner Matthias Gerdesmeier, is developing a Speech2Text process.
THE NEED
The carpentry was looking for an efficient solution for quotation creation in order to reduce the high effort involved in manual creation and to minimize potential sources of error.

THE SPECIAL FEATURES
The Speech2Text solution makes it possible to digitally record customer requests directly during the consultation. The spoken word is automatically converted into structured offer data – quickly, precisely and directly on site.
THE CHALLENGES
The biggest challenge was to adapt the speech recognition to the technical vocabulary of the carpentry trade. The system had to learn to distinguish relevant offer information from irrelevant conversation content.
